Audio tour of highlights by Mary Peck, Specialist, Christie's Post-War/Contemporary Art Department



The sale features important paintings by masters of the genre such as Helen Frankenthaler's Courtyard of El Greco's House (lot 318), executed during a breakthrough period of her career; and Tom Wesselmann's Seascape #7 (lot 327), from his series of works depicting female body parts on a grand scale.

Also featured are Gerhard Richter's Abstraktes Bild (721-1) (lot 387); and important works by Andy Warhol such as Pia (lot 366), and one of his last and best known self-portraits (lot 381).

Among significant sculpture on offer are David Smith's Picture Between Doors (lot 305) and George Rickey's Six Random Lines Eccentric II (lot 396), which will be installed outside of Christie's Rockefeller Center during the viewing.
