Illustrated with full-color photographs of jewelry, all specially chosen by Miss Taylor, and never-before-seen photos from her personal album, the book will retail for $65.00.

François Curiel, Chairman, Christie's Europe and International Department Head, Jewelry, discusses some of the highlights of Elizabeth Taylor's Collection. Mr. Curiel also wrote the introduction to Miss Taylor's book.

In her new book Miss Taylor shares moving and memorable stories about her jewelry, her family, friends and special occasions that have added meaning to her rare collection of jewelry.

She shares personal moments about the phenomenal gifts Richard Burton bestowed on her, such as the breathtaking 33.19ct. Krupp Diamond and the heart-shaped Taj Mahal Diamond she received for her 40th birthday. The diamond was originally a gift from the Mughal Emperor Shah-Jahan or "King of the World" to his beloved wife, in whose memory The Taj Mahal was built.

Other pieces Miss Taylor talks about include the elegant La Peregrina Pearl discovered by a slave in the Gulf of Panama in the early 1500s. The piece was later a wedding present from Spain's Prince Philip II's to Queen Mary Tudor of England. Upon her death, the pearl was returned to Spain to be worn by a succession of Spanish queens, including Margarita, as illustrated in a Velásquez portrait.

Highlights from Miss Taylor's book will be on view in a one-of-a-kind public exhibition at Christie's Rockefeller Center from September 30 to October 14. Admission is free.
