Bidders are advised that some countries (such as the USA) prohibit or restrict the purchase and import of Iranian origin “works of conventional craftsmanship”. This restriction excludes carpets and “informational materials”, such as manuscripts and works on paper. Changes in US law now permit US persons to purchase and import Iranian / Persian origin carpets into the US. All bidders are responsible for familiarising themselves with the laws that apply to them and ensuring that they do not bid on or import properties in contravention of relevant sanctions or trade embargoes.
