The Oriental Rugs and Carpets sale realized £1,904,500/ $2,830,087/ €2,641,542.

Louise Broadhurst, Head of Oriental Rugs and Carpets, commented: “The Oriental Rugs and Carpets sale was well attended with a demand for rare and early pieces. We are particularly pleased with the result achieved for the important Mongol Empire wool flat woven carpet, lot 100, which sold for £602,500. There was competitive bidding on the large and very beautiful 16th century Ottoman Cairene carpet that exceeded its high estimate, selling for £134,500 and strong interest in the Chinese carpets from new clients in the Far East. We look forward to the next Oriental Carpets sale that will take place on 6 October 2015.”
