Matisse Online

Matisse Online

拍卖简介

Christie’s is pleased to present an online-only auction of drawings and prints by Henri Matisse, offered directly from members of the Matisse family.

An essential means of artistic expression throughout his career, drawing and printmaking reveal Matisse’s remarkable draftsmanship, economy of line and expressive freedom. Bringing together animated portraits, sensual nudes and delicate floral compositions, the sale offers an intimate glimpse into the artist’s world and the enduring subjects he explored with inexhaustible curiosity.

Together, these works celebrate the vitality and immediacy of Matisse’s works on paper and his singular contribution to modern art.
