Christie’s is delighted to present The Blaquier-Arrieta Collection.
This exceptional collection is led by masterpieces of French 18th-century silver, the finest group of museum-quality silver in private hands. The centrepiece of which is a magnificent Louis XV silver tureen, one of only a handful of surviving works by the celebrated goldsmith Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750), commissioned by the Duke of Kingston in the 1730s, epitomizing the revolutionary Rococo style. The pursuit of excellence is evident throughout this extraordinary collection - from Limoges enamels, Italian 17th-century bronzes and Old Master Paintings, to important gold boxes, 18th-century French furniture, and Impressionist bronzes and works on paper.
