This July, Christie’s unveils the final chapter of The Jim Irsay Collection: Icons of History, which offers a compelling and deeply personal survey of American history through a remarkable group of manuscripts, books and cultural artefacts.

The collection unfolds as a living archive of objects that shaped the national narrative. Highlights include William J. Stone’s 1823 engraving of the Declaration of Independence, George Washington’s 1787 letter sending a copy of the Constitution to Thomas Jefferson, a pair of tickets from the night of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination at Ford’s Theatre, a broadside of the 1941 Atlantic Charter signed by Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill and one of the famous Kennedy rocking chairs, alongside letters, documents, campaign ephemera and objects that reveal the human stories behind America’s defining figures.
