The shallow zitan box decorated on top with a panel inlaid in finely carved and detailed red lacquer with nine scaly, five-clawed dragons leaping and writhing in and out of a finely carved, dense ground of clouds and storm-tossed waves crashing against a central rock positioned below the largest dragon shown pursuing a flaming pearl, the sides left plain, with simple brass mounts, losses to one edge
