This painting is sold with a copy of a letter from Dr. Francesca Baldassari wrote to the owner on 28 May 2007, confirming the attribution to Onorio Marinari and dating the painting to circa 1685, in the late activity of the painter, when he showed a renewed interest in the style and tecnique of his cousin Carlo Dolci. Dr. Baldassari compares this picture to Marinari's Saint Cecilia, of the same period, in the Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen.
