For many years, A. Lange & Söhne had not produced a stand-alone rattrapante chronograph. This changed in 2020 with the launch of the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold, crafted in the brand’s proprietary Honeygold alloy and issued in a limited edition of 100 pieces. A new version of the 1815 Rattrapante was introduced by the manufacturer in 2022, two years later. It was made in a limited quantity of 200 pieces and housed in platinum.
This platinum edition adheres faithfully to the aesthetic standards that characterize A. Lange & Söhne. The watch has a sophisticated monochromatic silver-toned dial with subtle blued accents. The case has two rectangular chronograph pushers, a large crown for winding, and an extra pusher at ten o'clock required to operate the split-second mechanism.
Powering the watch is the calibre L101.2, a meticulously finished manual-winding movement beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, fitted with 36 jewels and offering a power reserve of approximately 58 hours. The movement, which combines technical sophistication with the outstanding finishing for which A. Lange & Söhne is renowned, perfectly captures the brand's well-known Saxon watchmaking heritage.
