The imagery of the present jade pebble combines the crane, deer, and lingzhi fungus, all traditional emblems of longevity and auspiciousness in Chinese art. The crane stands prominently atop a rocky outcrop, while the deer below turns its head upward toward the bird, holding a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth, the sacred fungus associated with immortality. Together, the composition evokes the auspicious theme of helu tongchun (“crane and deer heralding eternal spring”), conveying wishes for long life, health, and enduring harmony.
