Helen Frankenthaler Prints

Helen Frankenthaler prints demonstrate her pioneering approach to Color Field painting, adapted for lithography, etching and screenprint. Using her signature soak-stain method, she applied diluted pigments to create translucent, overlapping washes that blend and flow across the page. Working closely with master printmakers and often producing multiple states, Frankenthaler built each print layer by layer, refining tonal variation, texture and composition. The result is dynamic, luminous prints that capture the fluidity, movement and colour experimentation that define her overall oeuvre, making Helen Frankenthaler prints a vital extension of her artistic practice.
