Christie’s Art d’Asie auction in Paris features a curated selection of works from private European and Asian collections spanning more than 3000 years of Asian art. The sale showcases important archaic bronzes, Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain, jade carvings, cloisonné enamels, lacquer and classical and modern Chinese paintings. Highlights include an exceptional and highly important Shang Dynasty bronze ritual owl-form wine vessel and cover, xiaozun, formerly in the collection of Maurice Rheims, a very interesting cloisonné bell from the Qianlong reign, a nice painting by Qi Baishi, Two roosters, from a private European collection. In the Buddhist section we will offer a very impressive gilt-bronze peacock vahana, Tibet , 15th century and animportant gilt-bronze figure of Bodhisattva, Tibet, dated to the 16th century from a private collector of Amsterdam. We will also present the second part of the Galerie Duchange collection including porcelains, scholar’s objects and a beautiful Coromandel screen as well an important selection of blue and white porcelain pieces from the Sam and Myrna Myers private collection.
