拍賣簡介

Le Goût français celebrates two centuries of master-makers in the field of decorative art. The furniture and works of art section gathers many pieces from prestigious private collections such as the former collection of Arthur-Georges Veil-Picard, showcasing the variety of decorative arts in the 18th and 19th centuries. It also comprises creations of the great decorators of the 20th century who have reinterpreted the styles of the past centuries, like the Louis XVI-style pair of console tables by Maison Jansen. Within the ceramics is a group of 18th century Meissen porcelain including a collection of early ‘Chinoiserie’ pieces, and a garniture of three vases decorated with fabulous animals after Abraham Friedrich von Löwenfinck. Four components from a Sèvres porcelain service from the 18th century with a  ‘caillouté’ ground will also be offered. Silver is represented by a selection of snuff boxes including one by Joseph-Etienne Blerzy, with gouaches by the painter Louis-Gabriel Moreau, and a bouillon by Martin-Guillaume Biennais with Napoléon I’s coat of arms kept by the Emperor during his exile on the island of Sainte-Hélène.
