The Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale realised £4,153,850 /$6,276,467/€4,789,389 and was sold 79% by lot and 83% by value.

The top lot was The Statue, Figures in a Town Square by Laurence Stephen Lowry, R.A. (1887-1976) which fetched £169,875/$256,681/€195,866.

A busy saleroom saw competitive bidding across the spectrum of periods and styles of the category. Notable prices were achieved for works by Lowry, Christopher Wood and for ‘Genghis Khan’ by Philip King which set a new world record price for the artist at auction. We are particularly pleased with the results achieved for the works from the collection of Tony Reichardt which have attracted great interest and which was sold 100% by lot.”
