The New York debut of The Connoisseur’s Eye presents furniture, works of art, porcelain, carpets and tapestries, with a particular focus on exceptional works from the 18th century. The sale features treasures from the estate of Eugenie Fromer, as well as property from notable institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Speed Art Museum and The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens. Highlights include an appealing group of English furniture from a private American estate, hall settees from Witley Court, masterpieces of German cabinet-making, a silk Heriz carpet, as well as Sèvres porcelain and early Meissen porcelain from a private New York collection.
