Led by Post-War to Present, the season’s anchor sale, Contemporary New York brings together celebrated figures of the post-war period in dialogue with influential voices shaping the present, from Donald Judd, Andy Warhol, Sam Gilliam, Josef Albers, Fernando Botero and Wayne Thiebaud to Lisa Yuskavage, Gerhard Richter, Kerry James Marshall and Anicka Yi. Across four sales, discover paintings, sculpture, works on paper and prints at every scale, from the richly varied works of Up Close, which invite close looking and heightened attention to material, detail and objecthood, alongside the personal history of Marian Goodman’s collection in Breaking Ground and the monumental graphic experiments of Frank Stella in Graphic Alchemist.
