This work was one of a number of reproductions from old cartoons undertaken by the Merton Abbey Works in the early twentieth century. Marillier describes the tapestry as a '...tour de force, an exquisite little tapestry in very fine pitch ...'. The work does not appear to have been woven to order, but was acquired by St. Mary's Convent, Chiswick in 1919.
