Chrysanthemum-shaped dishes appear in a complete series of twelve colours. The most notable set from the Yongzheng period is in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Monochrome Porcelain, The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 1999, pp. 282-283, no. 257.

It is interesting to compare Qianlong period chrysanthemum dishes with those produced during the Yongzheng reign; the latter have more pointed petals while those on the Qianlong examples are more rounded.

This dish is listed as no. 3 in an inventory of Madame Loup-Borel's collection of porcelains, cloisonne and curios in Geneva, dated 23 August 1927.
