The vases of tapered hexagonal form and on three stylized lion-form feet, decorated in black and varicolored gold hiramaki-e, togidashi and ivory inlay with panels depicting birds amongst foliage, floral vases and figures in a garden, alternated with roundels containing flowers and birds on a ground of brocade pattern, surmounted by domed lids with further maki-e decoration, each with ivory lion-dog finial
