The hall mark, Qingyitang, is more usually seen in a four-character version, Qingyitang zhi, and has been variously translated. M. Wilson translates it as 'Hall of Appropriate Felicity', in Rare Marks on Chinese Ceramics, London, 1998, pp. 120-21, no. 50, where the four-character mark is seen on a dish decorated in famille rose enamels with a mille fleurs design. It has also been translated as 'Hall of Blessings and Correctness', and has been associated with porcelains ranging in date from the Yongzheng to Jiaqing periods.
