A SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD

With earlier broad tapering double-edged fullered blade, probably slight shortened and reprofiled, incised with a running wolf mark at the forte, iron hilt of fluted bars supporting shields pierced with circles and stylised hearts, the inner-guard with large bridle-loop, scrolled wrist-guard, compressed domed pommel cut with flutes, and large leather-covered grip (worn, wire binding missing)
