A GILT AND LACQUERED ZITAN FIGURE OF PALDEN LHAMO
18TH CENTURY
The fierce-looking deity is carved with fanged teeth and bulging eyes, and wears a crown and necklace of skulls. She is seated on a harnessed donkey, holding a skull cup in one hand with her other arm raised. The detachable base is carved in the form of crashing waves within rockwork.
