The mathematician Egnazio Danti edited this edition, after the first of 1583. “Danti’s commentary considerably exceeds in length the basic text, and explores the implications of Vignola’s theories in a wide-ranging manner” (Kemp, Science of Art p. 79). Cicognara 810; Millard Italian 149.
