拍品專文

In the early decades of the twentieth century Mark Senior made several trips to Belgium and the Netherlands where he encountered a number of fellow artists, including Frank Brangwyn, who became a lifelong friend and mentor. Brangwyn's influence is clearly evidenced in the brown background shot with brilliant streaks of red and blue colouring of A Flemish fishmarket. Brangwyn continued to support Senior's work, and purchased two of his paintings for the collection of Konjo Matsukata in Japan. Unfortunately the collection was destroyed by a fire at a London warehouse in 1939.
