This January, embrace the new year with Christie’s Americana Week — a series of three auctions that celebrate the patriotic energies and diversities of the nation. Dive into a melting pot of extraordinary artwork and objects ranging from Chinese Export porcelain and Outsider Art, featuring nine drawings by the self-taught African American artist Bill Traylor, to a Newport card table attributed to John Townsend, portraits by Joshua Johnson and early English ceramics from the Longridge Collection. Further highlights include a rare 1776 broadside edition of The Declaration of Independence as well as important prints and documents from the Collection of Ambassador J. William Middendorf II.
Viewings for the three sales begin 15 January — by appointment only — at our Rockefeller Center galleries.
