To mark the inauguration of our new Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson, Christie’s is honoured to present an exceptional selection of works by internationally renowned and emerging artists in the 21st Century Day Sale, encapsulating the vigour and dynamism of contemporary art movements. Yayoi Kusama’s seminal painting, Pumpkin, and her pioneering work, Bird lead the sale. Other highlights include a highly attractive painting by Yoshitomo Nara, ABC, and a treasured still life oil painting by Nicolas Party, Still Life with a Candle.
Encompassing a wide variety of cultural dialogues, this selection of works transcends regional limits to feature a meticulously curated array that reflects international creativity. We are proud to feature esteemed works from celebrated Asian artists, including Japanese painters Izumi Kato, Kohei Nawa, and Ayako Rokkaku, Indonesian artists Christine Ay Tjoe and Handiwirman Saputra, as well as contemporary Chinese artists Ding Yi, Huang Yuxing, Cui Jie and Stephen Wong Chun Hei. This season also presents a global perspective, showcasing remarkable interactions between cultures beyond Asia, with works by Anselm Kiefer, Antony Gormley, George Condo, Mehdi Ghadyanloo and Lucy Bull.
