On 28 April, Christie’s Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction presents a distinguished selection of rare and important works. Led by Twin Eagles by Bada Shanren from an Important Asian Private Collection, the sale also features several exceptional masterpieces, including Poem in Running Script by Wang Shouren of the Ming dynasty; Gathering of Reclusive Sages and Poetry Drafts by Chen Hongshou, formerly in the C. C. Wang Family Collection; Reading in the Autumn Mountains and Mount Nüji by Tang Yin; as well as Magnificent View of the Yangzi River by Shen Zhou from an Important Japanese Private Collection.

Vice President, Head of Department, Chinese Paintings | Chinese Paintings

Carmen Shek Cerne serves as Head of Department and Senior Specialist in the Chinese Paintings Department in Hong Kong. She joined Christie's in 2009 as part of the Associate Specialist Training Program. As part of the team Carmen focuses on client advisory and business getting in Hong Kong and overseas; she is also responsible for research and catalogue production. Prior to joining Christie's Carmen was Assistant Curator at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum at the time when the museum first opened its doors to the public in 2005. Carmen has lived in Italy and the UK, and she graduated from University College London with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ancient History and Social Anthropology.
