This spring, Christie’s Hong Kong is proud to present Chinese Classical Furniture from the Shitou Shuwu Collection, a curated selection of 25 exceptional examples of Chinese furniture and scholar’s objects crafted from huanghuali and zitan. Each piece reflects the collector’s deep engagement with the world of the Ming literati, embodying the period’s pursuit and appreciation of classical aesthetic ideals.

Among the highlights is a rare and important huanghuali horseshoe‑back ‘grand master’ chair and footstool, 17th century, distinguished by its elegant proportions and refined craftsmanship. Also featured is a rare zitan scroll‑form low qin table, 16th–17th century, notable for its superb material quality and sculptural presence.
