Picasso Ceramics

Picasso Ceramics

Sale Overview

Picasso Ceramics return for Christie’s 20th/21st Century Art auction series this November, with a wide-ranging selection of vivid and innovative ceramics by the modern icon.

Pablo Picasso’s interest in the ceramic medium, sparked by his move to the south of France in 1946, blossomed into a true passion, resulting in a 25-year collaboration with Georges and Suzanne Ramié, founders of the renowned Atelier Madoura. This fruitful partnership produced over 600 editioned designs of all shapes, styles, and sizes, alongside numerous unique works.

Inspired by both tradition and modernity, these ceramics represent one of Picasso’s most experimental mediums.
