Opening the celebrations Christie's Wine and Spirits Department’s 60th Anniversary this year, Christie’s presents ‘The Cellar of the Hon. Henry Tang’, a dedicated live auction taking place on 10 October 2026 at Christie’s Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson in Hong Kong. This landmark single-owner auction comes nearly six decades after Christie’s held its inaugural wine auction on 11 October 1966 in London, a pioneering moment that helped shape the modern fine wine auction market and laid the foundations for the world’s first standalone wine department. Six decades on, Christie’s continues to connect collectors across continents and generations, with the private collection of the Honourable Mr Henry Tang leading the anniversary celebrations in Hong Kong, with further anniversary sales in New York and London to be announced.
