The Collector sales offer a carefully curated selection of fine and important European decorative arts from the 17th to the 19th centuries. Highlights of the 14 November sale include a very fine Victorian parcel-gilt silver table garniture by Elkington (lot 417); a set of eight Dutch silver candlesticks from the collection of Albert and Leonie van Daalen (lot 438); a late 16th/early 17th century German silver-gilt-mounted turbo-shell cup (lot 473); a monumental pair of Rococo Revival George IV silver five-light candelabra with the mark of Paul Storr (lot 498); an over-lifesize pair of Italian polychrome marble busts formerly in the collection of María Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat, Buenos Aires (lot 577); a private collection of three 19th century life-size marble figures, including a delicately carved Venus and Cupid by Andrea Malfatti (lot 600); a Napoleon III serre bijoux cabinet by Maison Giroux with rare Sèvres enamel plaques by Bernard-Alfred Meyer (lot 638); a pair of cloisonné-enamel mounted onyx vases on stands by Ferdinand Barbedienne which epitomize the ‘néo-grec’ style (lot 644).
