A RARE GERMAN FLINTLOCK GRENADE-LAUNCHING PISTOL

CIRCA 1750

With four-stage brass barrel forming a cup at the muzzle of 3½ inches diameter, the touch-hole bushed with iron, plain iron tang, flat bevelled lock engraved with scrollwork against a punched ground (steel probably a contemporary replacement), moulded walnut stock (repaired), and iron mounts including flat side-plate terminating in a monster-head (in worn condition, iron parts pitted)
