A Meissen armorial teabowl from the Mauro D'Averso service
Circa 1738-40
Painted with the coat-of-arms and the collar and badge of the Order of S. Gennaro surmounted by a coronet and with two lion supporters above a continuous scene painted in the manner of B.G. Haüer with merchants in coastal landscapes loading a galleon from rowing-boats, beneath a gilt rim, the interior painted with a spray of indianische Blumen (wear to gilding, three minute footrim chips), blue crossed swords mark and Dreher's three circles

A tea-caddy from this service in the Jörge Nelte Collection was sold in these Rooms on 12 October 1995, lot 55 and two-handled beakers and saucers from the same service were sold in these Rooms on 5 October 1981, lot 116 and 5 December 1994, lot 226.
