The cannelee case with engine-turned side panels inset with enamel ovals painted in pale pink and grey tones with courting lovers amidst rustic scenes, with conforming engine-turned mask to the enamel dial with Roman numerals around a central picture of a romantic lady in 18th century costume, with retail signature PAYNE & SON, blued spade hands, with inset oval panel below depicting a young woman playing the flute, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat on gong to the backplate numbered 5
