The case with breakarch hood with outset brass-capped fluted columns, square top trunk door flanked by reeded chamfered angles, the plinth raised on bracket feet, the cut away brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to later silvered chapter ring signed B. Brandreth Middlewich, the matted centre with subsidiary silvered seconds ring, engraving around the date aperture, ringed winding holes, vacant later strike/silent aperture above 60, the arch with silvered calendar ring and engraved centre with penny moon, later hand, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, later seatboard; associated, movement and dial second quarter 18th century, case last quarter 18th century
