A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, second quarter 19th century
The case with swan-neck pediment and turned finials to the hood, outset baluster and tapering columns, with conforming three-quarter pilasters flanking the short wavy top trunk door, on stepped plinth with chamfered angles (one rear foot lacking), the dial with painted rolling moon and church scene to the arch and cottages to the spandrels, subsidiary seconds and calendar rings to the centre signed J. Howell Bilston (decoration refreshed), minute ring broken, falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, with later seatboard and restorations
