A George II 30-hour japanned longcase clock
The red and gilt decorated case with stepped flat top, square top trunk door with raised chinoiserie figures and designs, lenticle glass, on stepped plinth, the 10in. (25cm.) square cut away brass dial with cherub and coronet spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, the centre engraved with central star and with border of circular pierced ornament, the brass framed movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on bell; case later decorated, basically second quarter 18th century
