The case with foliate cast handle and repouse mounts to the cushion-moulded top, later pierced wood sound frets to the front and glazed sides, the moulded base on ebonised bun feet, the 7 in. sq. dial with matted centre and silvered chapter ring with gilt winged cherub spandrels, later blued steel hands, the seven ringed pillar movement with twin chain fusees, re-built verge escapement, the hours struck on a large bell with the quarters sounding on a smaller bell of higher pitch via a large calibrated rosette-engraved countwheel on the tulip-engraved backplate signed Adamson London within a foliate cartouche; with restorations
