The case inlaid overall with Arabesque scolling foliage within stylised acanthus borders, the cushion moulded top surmounted by a foliate cast handle, the later 7 in. sq. dial with silvered chapter ring and winged cherub spandrels, the six pillar twin gut fusee movement with re-built verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on six bells via six hammers with hour strike on a further bell, the backplate neatly engraved with foliate scrolls and flowerheads with an acanthus border and signed in the centre John Stanton London within a foliate cartouche; movement circa 1690, case and dial of later date
