The well-proportioned case of typical form with moulded architectural pediment to the forward-sliding hood with hinged front door and glazed sides, concave throat moulding to the trunk with glazed sides and lift-out trunk door, similar panel to the square base with concave base moulding and levelling screws to either side, the 8 cm. diam. engine-turned ormolu bezel securing the white enamel Roman dial signed Caspar Hagyn in Pesth with well-formed blued steel beetle-and-poker hands, the four pillar movement with shouldered rectangular brass plates, the weight-driven going train with deadbeat escapement with fine adjustment to the crutchpiece to the steel rod pendulum with flanking brass compensation bars, spring barrels for the grande sonnerie strike on two gongs secured to the seatboard
