Charles, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penshurst
Address to Lord Hardinge on behalf of the citizens of Delhi, printed in colours, finished by hand. Delhi: Delhi Printing Works, n.d.[1913]. On stiff waxed paper, approximately 50 x 35cm. (slight wear to right margin). In a presentation tube, embroidered 'To His Excellency Lord Hardinge of Penshurst from the Citizens of Delhi', blue velvet, silver braid, the lid with embroidered viceregal crown, lined with silk, by D[elhi] P[rinting] Works, approximately 40 x 10cm. diameter (velvet rubbed, some braid detached).
The address was presented to Lord Hardinge on his first birthday after the 'outrageous attempt on [his] life', and expresses thanks for the moving of the capital to Delhi.
