Edo Period (18th Century)
The simple iron bowl extended with leather and lacquered black to form a sai no tsuno kabuto [rhinoceros horn helmet] with black lacquered leather ears on either side; a simple russet lacquered Hineno jikoro [close fitting neckguard] laced with mid blue lacing in sugake [spaced] style; fukigaeshi with a gilt copper mon possibly of the Kawai family; gilt wood disc maedate, old repair around forecrest holder
