A fine bold red-lacquered iron mask, the nose detachable with hinges, the hinge pins secured by short chains, the simple mouth without teeth, yodarekake [throat-defence] of black-lacquered iron kiritsuke-kozane [imitation lamellae] with dark blue kebiki-odoshi [close-spaced lacing], the lower plate in textured black and gold lacquer
