Circa 1755-60
The punch-bowl finely enamelled and gilt with a coat-of-arms and crest on two sides of the exterior divided by large bold flower clusters, the interior gilt at the centre STEADY., below a wide band of flowers and fruit, including lotus, magnolia, chrysanthemum, hibiscus, daisy, peony, finger citrus, gourds, grapes, area of rim restored; and a large jug, en suite, with the arms below the spout dividing two floral clusters, a band of gilt chain-pattern at the rim, handle repaired

Lot Essay
The arms are those of Wentworth. This punch bowl and ewer were made for Sir Thomas Wentworth of Bretton, who was the last baronet of that line and who was appointed High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1765.
