A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE TWO-HANDLED BALUSTER URNS AND COVERS
Circa 1785
Each modelled after a European Neo-classical prototype with gilt acanthus handles, each side with a moulded iron-red and gilt swag enclosing a gilt moulded oval cartouche depicting a grisaille European harbour scene dividing sprays of enamelled flowers and tendrils, all suspended from a narrow band at the shoulder, supported on a narrow stem foot with moulded radiating leaf surround resting on a square faux bois stand, the shallow domed cover with iron-red and gilt berry finial and similar band at the rim, one neck and one cover restored
