An 18th-Century surveyor's circumferentor,
unsigned, the horizontal circle with two fixed folding sights (possible replacements), the alidade with two fixed sights, the circle divided in four quadrants, mounted on the compass box, with silvered dial, fleur-de-lys north point, replacement iron needle, on ball-and-socket tripod or staff mounting, on ebonised plinth base, overall height -- 71/8in. (18cm.)
