A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, second quarter 19th century
The line inlaid case with swan neck cresting to the hood, oval sound frets to the sides, short rectangular trunk door, the plinth raised on bracket feet, the 13½in. wide white dial painted with scene of a wheelwright's workshop to the arch and with female seasonal spandrels, white centre with subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed J. LIGHTBODY LANARK (all retouched), pinned directly to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 87½in. (222cm.) high
