A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, mid 19th century
The wide-bodied case with swan neck pediment to the hood and outset double baluster columns, with short 'onion' top arch trunk door flanked by short fluted canted angles, on plinth with recessed circular panel, the 13½in. wide white dial with spandrels painted as cottage scenes, the white centre with Roman chapters and subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed Stonehouse and Cordingley Dunslet, with brass hands, the arch with scene of parents at a table being read to by their daughter, pinned directly to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 89½in. (227.5cm.) high
