A fine pair of 10-inch (25.4cm.) diameter table globes, the terrestrial JORDGLOB Utgifven af C. AKRELL, 1864. Tillverkas af L.C. Hasselgren Stockholm, made up of eighteen hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and meridian graduated in degrees, the latter running through Iceland, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the oceans showing ocean currents, the continents with some areas outlined in green, red or pale brown and some nation states delineated in orange, showing deserts, rivers, mountains, towns and cities (some areas of discolouration, small repair to South Pole, minor paper loss); the celestial HIMMELSGLOB L.C. Hasselgren made up of eighteen dark blue engraved gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and the equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the constellations depicted by mythical beasts, figures and scientific instruments in yellow, with stars to six orders of magnitude labelled with Greek letters, some named in Swedish (some slight discolouration, narrow gap between two gores inpainted); both spheres mounted with unengraved meridian half-circle, raised on a baluster turned fruitwood column and plinth base, with inset compass in brass mount and blued-steel needle -- 17½in. (44.4cm.) high
